We are a design practice and publishing house. We imagine and speculate on past, present and future Funk. Synthesising culture through narratives, places and spaces. We develop stories as strategies for a more equitable and playful city. Catch us designing digital and physical spaces, mixed media storytelling platforms, researching novel design languages and systems that serve the Hood, its people and the sauce we produce. This website is an ongoing attempt to merge our portfolio site, publishing platform and a mapping project into one. And, since we grew up on blogs, we share dope shit by dope people from time to time. Our aim is to become the Wu-Tang Clan of design and publishing, so best to protect your neck.

On 22 December 2016 we co-organised (under our then moniker Studio Narrative) the Freedom Lecture together with De Balie and Arminius. Present were Black Lives Matter (BLM) co-founder Patrisse Cullors and Janaya Khan, BLM Toronto founder. In a roundtable conversation we discussed Black Lives Matter as an organisation, its strategies, the context from which the movement was formed and the challenges it faced right after Donald Trump was elected 45th president of the United States in November 2016.

That's not a chip on my shoulder. That's your foot on my neck — Malcolm X
